Fit like a'body,

Just a wee newsing fae you a' tae read. July in Scotland and the sun shone sweetly, or at least it did for us on the 29th when the Grampian JEC held it's second gathering of Jaguars an Daimlers in the North East of Scotland. As the Regional Rep, I wish to thank all the stalwarts who put in so much effort to make the event the success that it was. Car numbers were slightly down on last year but attendance figures were up. 1500 visitors+ the last unofficial count from the National Trust for Scotland, our hosts at Drum Castle for the day. This venue has it all - historic castle and gardens, superb settings and enthusiasts galore.

Our thanks to Graham and Anne Mundy who put our event before their own personal affairs to make an appearance at the gathering. Super folk with hearts of gold. Thanks also to our regional dealership, Reg Vardy, who once again provided us with four cars, V8 Sovereign, XK8, S Type and of course a new X Type. Larry Kinch brought along 3 cars from his collection of Jaguars, road racing XJ220, racing XK120 FHC and a Mk II. The day also saw 2 Mk IV's, XK150'S, Daimler Conquest, E Types, MkII's, Mk X, 420's, Series 1, 2, 3 XJ'S, XJS's and a smattering of more modern X300's six cylinder and V8's. What lacked in quantity was made up for in quality, not only of the cars but more importantly the owners and enthusiasts'. Lastly our thanks go to all those who took the effort to come to see us over the weekend, the committee welcomes you all again next year for the JEC Scottish Gathering in the Grampian Region. See future Club Magazine for Article and photos.

For all you good folk out there in the region, please remember that we still have a full events calendar for the rest of the year with a Castle run in September, a visit to Alyth on the 3rd November and to Browns Lane on the 11th / 12th November. For all those wishing to take part in these two events please contact myself, Ben Cummins by phone [01561-378459] or by Email benjecat@btinternet.com so that numbers can be finalised.

Best I sign off now or I will have nothing to say for next month so drive safe and tak' care o' yersels.
