1. Name of Club

The Regional Club shall be known as the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club - Grampian Region (76).

2. Objectives

The objectives of the Regional Club are:

  • To act as a non-profit making regional branch of the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Ltd.To provide for its members, the facility to pursue a commonality of interest of Jaguar and Daimler cars.
  • To promote and cultivate friendship and social enjoyment for its regional members through the common interests associated with their support of the Jaguar/Daimler marque.
  • To follow the JEC intention of owners and enthusiasts; for using, maintaining or restoring their vehicles in a friendly and informal manner with the minimum of cost to its members.

3. Membership

  • Membership of the region will be taken from those individuals who joined the club via its headquarters at, The Old Library, 113a Gloucester Road North, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7PU.
  • The regional membership will be maintained locally and will be the responsibility of the Registration Secretary and will be updated regularly via local membership details.
  • The Registration Secretary will retain two registers at any one time. These registers will consist of an Active members register (members willing to participate actively within the objectives of the regional club), and a non-active members register of those persons who wish to remain on the International register at HQ in Bristol.

4. Regional Committee

A regional committee of volunteers will be elected by the regional membership and will consist of the following officers:

  • Regional Representative
  • Club Secretary
  • Club Registrar
  • Club Treasurer
  • Social Secretary
  • Webman
  • Regional Members

Each officer or committee member will serve for a period of one year, but not longer than three years. If no other candidates are available after the three years then that committee member may stand for re-election after that period, but only with the approval of the committee.

5. Responsibilities of the Committee

  • The committee will be responsible for the correct running of the clubs affairs and to formulate any local rules as may apply.
  • A quorum of 2/3 of the committee is required for all decisions made at meetings with a casting vote decision held by the Regional representative.
  • The committee will reserve option to suspend any regional member from attending regional meetings or events whereupon that members actions, brings into disrepute, the aims of this club and/or its regional activities.
  • Any member so suspended will have their name and actions reported to the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Ltd.

6. Records

  • Records of all meetings and AGM’s will be taken by the Regional Representative or their appointed deputy and be made available for review by the membership.
  • The Treasurer will record accounts and receipts, with all local meeting subscriptions (to be agreed annually) and/or donations paid into a Treasurers Account held with the Bank of Scotland. All monies so collected will be the property of the regional members.
  • A Statement of account to be presented at the AGM. Account books shall be made available for inspection on any reasonable request.

7. Elections

Election of committee members shall take place in the following manner:

  • Any two members may nominate another member (with their consent) to stand for election to an office of the committee. The name of the nominated member, proposer and seconder to be given in writing to the Regional Representative 30 days before the regional clubs AGM.
  • Members may vote for as many candidates as there are vacancies.
  • Members not able to attend the AGM may leave proxy vote with the Regional representative and such votes will be cast at the AGM.
  • All newly elected officers will take up their posts immediately following the AGM.

8. Regional Meetings

Regional Meetings will take place as follows:

  • The Annual General Meeting will take place in March of each year. The Regional Representative will circulate to all active members of the region a copy of the AGM agenda, one month before the date of the AGM.
  • Other Meetings will take place on a regular basis unless otherwise agreed by the committee.
  • All regular meetings and the AGM will take place at an agreed venue in Aberdeen, commencing at 19.30 on the 4th Thursday of each month.
  • Changes to these details must be approved by the committee as per agreed responsibilities of a 2/3 majority, and notified to the Club HQ in Bristol at the earliest opportunity.
  • Attendance to the AGM of the parent Club will be undertaken by the regional rep if possible or an appointed deputy, with a report given to the regional members at the first meeting following attendance.

9. Conduct of Regional Members

  • Members are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible manner when participating in Club activities, or when representing the Club in any way.
  • Any discourtesy or discrimination shown to another member, their partners or guests will result in the suspension of the offender from the regional clubs activities.
  • Owners of Vehicles attending fun runs or social events must be fully covered by liability insurance to third parties, and is the wholly their responsibility.
  • Owners of vehicles attending inter-club participation rallies or events must also be fully covered by liability insurance.
  • The region will not be responsible for any vehicles used on the road in a non-road worthy condition i.e. Non display of a current tax disc, Uninsured or without a current MOT certificate.

10. Changes to the Constitution/Rules

  • Changes to the Constitution shall be by vote of the active regional membership at a full club meeting and by a majority of 2/3 with the casting vote held by the regional representative. Changes to the constitution shall be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
  • Rule changes can be actioned by a simply majority vote of the assembly at any normal meeting and recorded in the minutes of that meeting.

This constitution is accepted by the elected committee members of the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club - Grampian Region and is undersigned by them.
