2003 Report and Events

Apologies for not being able to attend the AGM were received from Jim Wiseman, Roy Burnett and Richard Marsh.

Tom reported that he had met with Graham Searle and Nigel Thorley at the Classic Car Show at the NEC Centre, Birmingham on 09 November 2003.

Graham agreed that he would be able to organise for the JEC Raffle Car to come to Drum next year. Date to be confirmed with Graham. Also discussed was the possibility of Graham or Nigel to give a talk or presentation on the History of Jaguar or any aspect within that. Nigel would be able to talk about specific models or Racing. Graham has recommended the History of Jaguar, which is about 2 ½ hours long (with a break). This would be one to invite Rossleigh Jaguar to or others interested in car histories.

Graham would be able to talk about the history of the JEC Club, which is again about 2 hours with questions. He has also developed a PowerPoint presentation on the club's Jaguar memorabilia, which is about an hour long.

Tom agreed to make arrangements with Graham and Nigel for this to be included in our 2004 events calendar

Drum Article for the JEC Magazine has been submitted to Nigel Thorley who informed me it would appear in the January 2004 issue.

Date for Drum 2004 - This has been set for Sunday, 01 August 2004 (in order to avoid the Alford Motorvation event on 25 July 2004. Celidh will be held on Friday, 30 July 2004 (as a result of availability of the Tor na Coille Hotel).

Technical Evening - Final arrangements for the Technical Evening have been made for Saturday, 22 November from 1200 noon until 2.00 pm at Salvesen Tower, Blaikies Quay, Aberdeen. This will take the theme of an E-type restoration project by Magne Normann and Tom Taylor.

The 2003 Xmas Party has been booked at Kippie Lodge for Friday, 12 December and we have 14 members attending.

Derek Cruden agreed to arrange for gifts to be available for the Xmas Party.

SVVF Communications - Lachlan Gray has been in touch regarding our membership of this Group and they have been advised of our Drum date for their magazine due to be published soon.

Treasurers Report

Derek Cruden reported on the Income and Expenditure Accounts for this year to the 31st October 2003, which were audited by Grampian Accounting in Aberdeen.

The details of this report have been attached to these minutes and he was pleased to report that the club had a balance of £1063.35 for the year.

Tom Taylor presented Derek with a cheque for £25 which was received from the company that borrowed the matting after Drum in 2002. This was given as compensation for the use of the matting which was cut up into several pieces.
